Primary - This page is for all of my wonderful students from Kindergarten to Grade Two!
Dear Parents,
Our primary learners are not quite ready for autonomous online learning yet so my hope is to use this page as a place to put some fun interactive videos and lessons that you and your children can do together. All activities on this page are inline with learning outcomes described in the BC Arts Education Curriculum. Updates will be posted at the bottom of the page.

Star Wars
May 4th: May the 4th be with you!
May the 4th is the unofficial Star Wars celebration day! The music of Star Wars is instantly recognizable and iconic. A composer named John Williams wrote the music and here for your enjoyment is a celebration of his music.
This is John Williams the man who wrote all the Star Wars music conducting an orchestra that is playing the Imperial March.
This is a medley of Star Wars music. A medley is a bunch of pieces of music played together. The lady playing the piano is named Sonya Belousova.
This is another medley of Star Wars music performed by Jimmy Fallon, the Roots, and several familiar faces.
May 5th Percussion
Percussion
Percussion is a fancy word that describes a group or family of instruments. Percussion instruments are anything that you hit, shake, or scrape. Can you think of an instrument that you hit, shake, or scrape? Here are some videos on how to make your very own percussion instruments. Remember if you choose to make any of these instruments you will need to ask an adult for help.
Remember to ask your parents for permission before trying any of these. Also for the water xylophone you can also you water colour paints to tint the water.

Another family of instruments is the string family! You can tell that an instrument is a member of the string family because they all have strings! Can you think of any instruments with strings? If you said guitar, violin, viola, bass, harp, cello, or even piano you'd be right! Pianos have strings on the inside. Below you will find videos of people playing different kinds of string instruments and one video on how to make your own string instrument. Remember you MUST get adult help before attempting to make anything posted on this site.

Hi Everyone! Today we are checking out the Sound Burst site. Make sure you have your volume on and before you begin make sure you have clicked on the white square in the middle of the page. Start by pressing all of the alphabet keys and the space bar. Try making patterns with sound!

Exploring Ballet
Today we are going to explore ballet with some of the dancers from a special Ballet version of Alice in Wonderland. What is ballet? Ballet is an incredible type of dance that is typically performed to classical music. Ballerinas have to train for a very long time to learn all the different steps and the proper way to do them. June 1st
Hi Everyone! You may have noticed that I did not update the page last week. that was because I was back at school getting ready for when school reopens. I am really looking forward to seeing smiling faces when we go back. Some of you won't be there and that is ok because I will hold you in my heart until I see you again soon! I won't be updating this page quite as frequently as I have been but I will still update until June 19th at least 2-3 times a week. Best Wishes to all of you and your families! Ms.B
